The house-museum of the Orbeli brothers was opened in 1982, to the 100th anniversary of the academician L. Orbeli. The museum is located in the popular ski resort of Tsakhkadzor.
The museum is not only a storage of the heritage of the Orbeli brothers, but also a cultural, educational and scientific center. The collection of the museum includes books, photos, documents, as well as personal things of the Orbeli brothers. The museum has more than 1,700 exhibits. All exhibits were collected by relatives and friends and brought from St. Petersburg.
The exhibits represent the life and social activities of the Orbeli brothers. In addition to the exhibition halls with materials there are three work rooms with furniture and personal belongings in the house-museum.
On the square in front of the museum there is a monument to the Orbeli brothers. It is the work of the famous sculptor A. Hovsepyan. The main city events are held on this square.
