Armenian artisans are famous all over the world, and no wonder that there are many interesting museums of decorative and applied arts in the country. One of the most impressive ones is the museum of woodcarving.
The museum of woodcarving was opened in 1977, where the enthusiasts started collecting unique pieces of decorative and applied art of Armenian masters. The museum is divided into the following halls: the department of sculpture, the department of ancient culture, and the department of applied art. At the moment, more than 30 collections are exhibited in the museum, each of which contains about 3000 exhibits. In addition to wooden items, the museum exhibits Armenian carpets, figures of Armenian women and everything that reflects the life and lifestyle of Armenians in different eras.
Each of the exhibits is unique. Be sure to take a closer look at each detail carved on wood. The fine work of the masters is simply amazing.
