Minas Avetisyan’s works of art have become a new word in the history of painting of Armenian artists. Bright and saturated colors, a peculiar interpretation of reality, and clear designations of objects – all this characterizes the artist’s work.
The house museum of Minas Avetisyan was opened two years after the death of the artist, in 1977. The workshop, converted into a museum, is in the attic of the house. The museum features works by Minas Avetisyan. Unfortunately, most of the artist’s heritage was destroyed in a fire in 1972.
In 1982, another museum was opened in the native village of Jajur. In 1988, the museum suffered from an earthquake. Later, in 2003 it was restored and reopened for visitors.
Looking at the art of Minas Avetisyan, one can say that the artist explains reality through personal perception, turning gray reality into more vivid and abstract forms.
