Jermuk

Jermuk town is located in the south-eastern part of Armenia, in Vayots Dzor region, at a distance of 175 km from Yerevan. This is one of the most popular tourist resorts in the country. And what makes it so attractive is pleasant mild climate, fresh air, picturesque nature, healing mineral waters and well-equipped sanatoriums.

The best time to visit the resort is from June to late September. Summers are warm dry with an average temperature of +21 C°.

The main attraction of the town is a gallery of mineral waters, where anyone can try the healing waters of different temperatures. Mineral waters of Jermuk contain an enormous amount of trace elements (chlorine, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, fluorine, bromine, magnesium and others.) and treat many diseases.

During the stay in the resort you should also visit the second largest waterfall in Armenia – Jermuk waterfall. You can also see the ancient church of Gndevank (936), located in the canyon of the Arpa River as well as the modern Church of St. Gayane, built in 2007.

About ten years ago the cable car was constructed in Jermuk. In winter it is used to reach the ski trails.
