From the second day starts an exciting journey around Armenia on off road jeeps. First, we will drive to the north of the country where the highest mountain Aragats (4090 m) is situated. Just on the slope of Aragats, there is a fortress of Amberd – a mid-century fort-city built during the 10th century. The beautiful surroundings will not leave anyone indifferent: alpine meadows with fragrant flowers, unforgettable Armenian landscapes. After delicious lunch, we will have an excursion to Saghmosavank monastery which is situated in an absolutely amazing place just at the edge of Kasakh gorge – the view is fantastic! Leaving the monastery the way continues to the town of Gyumri – the second largest town of Armenia. On the way, we will visit Artik town rich with cultural monuments and Harich town with its Harichavank Monastery built in the 7th on a cape formed by shallow ravines and the rivers flowing in them. In Gyumri after checking-in in the hotel, we will have a short city tour to the most interesting places and sights in one of the oldest cities in Armenia. The city is also famous for its historical-cultural traditions, strong art and crafts, education and also by filmmaking industry (a lot of films were produced in Gyumri). During the dinner, you will taste some special local dishes of this region.
