Introduction

Azhdahak Mount is the volcano in Armenia, the highest peak of Geghama mountains range. It has an elevation of 3,597 m above sea level. Azhdahak Mount is a favorite destination of all trekking lovers. In the crater of the mountain, there is an amazing small lake formed because of the melting snow. From the top of Azhdahak opens an amazing view of the whole Kotayk region, Geghama mountains, Ararat and Lake Sevan. By choosing our tour "Trekking to Azhdahak Mount" you will have an unforgettable journey with our professional guides and conquer the peak of Azhdahak.

Day 1 - Arrival - Sevaberd - Akna Lake

Day 2 - Akna Lake - Azhdahak - Kapuyt Lake

Day 3 - Kapuyt Lake - Petroglyphs - Vank Lake

This day you will trek to Lake Vank located at an altitude of 2,600 m. On the way, you will enjoy the view of colorful summer meadows and cross small rivers. All along the route, you will encounter prehistoric dragon stones, 10-20 feet-long fish-shaped stelae usually near river sources, sometimes with a stream of water flowing from the mouth of the fish. You will also see unique 6000- year-old petroglyphs.

Day 4 - Vank Lake - Geghard - Garni - Yerevan

We had this trip in mind for a long time and could finally accomplish it with Arara Tour this spring. Both me and my friend are good hikers and conquering Azhdahak pick was a great achievement. Our guide Antuan was very professional, caring and enthusiastic throughout the whole trip. He was too punctual and started the tours early in the morning for us to have the best views during the day at every destination. We enjoyed camping organized quite nicely at Blue lake and Vank lake. We were provided with lunch boxes and dinners during all camping days which made it very comfortable for us. And we experienced some unforgettable views in the mornings with a cup of hot coffee.
Our time in Armenia left us with many beautiful lifetime memories. Once again many thanks Arara and everyone involved in the company for this amazing trip.

Individual trekking tour

Guide: Ashot was our guide during the entire tour. He told us about Armenia and Armenian people with heart and humor. We felt very well cared for.

Driver: Ashot was also our driver. His driving style was safe and confident, especially considering that not all the road in Armenia are easy for driving. During our trekking tours Vahe accompanied us as a jeep driver. He did a great job.

Car: The car and the jeep were technically in order and well maintained.

Hotels: The hotels were all well selected and the food was always delicious.

What did you like best? The journey was very varied and informative. It was an individual tour for 2 persons. All our wishes were taken into acount. The mountains of Armenia and the hospitality of the people impressed us a lot.

What were you not satisfied with? There were no problems or reasons for complaints.
