TRIP REVIEWS (4)

Julie Gibson

Good Morning. First of all thank you for a wonderful holiday. The tour was fantastic and was very well put together. We loved the variety. The making of bread and local sweets was such fun. The meal with the local family was a lovely way to end our holiday.

Tour guide in Armenia.

Avet was an amazing guide, he is extremely proud of Armenia and this is shown in his guiding. He was so friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour. His explanations were excellent and we really enjoyed his company. The first night he joined us for dinner and was an excellent companion. The next night he was not included in the booking which was a huge disappointment to us as the staff in the restaurant did not speak much English and it would have been helpful to have had our guide there.

Avet is an asset to your tours and we will return to Armenia because of his excellent tour guiding, friendliness, and pride in his country. Well done Ahmed and I wish you every success in your future endeavours.

Hotel in Armenia

Great hotel, very centrally located. Rooms clean and staff friendly.

Hotels in Georgia
Boombully

This hotel was delightful, ideally located. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff friendly. Loved the family feel of this hotel and a lovely breakfast was prepared every morning.

Akhaltsikhe

This was a disaster. No one could seem to find an good option and said what about the one of the road Grand Palace. We were given rooms there but it was awful. This spoiled this part of the trip for us.

Kvareli Oaks
The rooms were immaculate and very tastefully decorated, with crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. I love the fact that this a family business, the owners father had created amazing pieces of woodwork which are placed strategically on the site, his mother has created a flower garden with herbs. The setting is tranquil and peaceful and a wonderful place to relax.
Thank you for choosing this wonderful place to stay. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Tour guide Georgia.

Tom was a very good tour guide and excellent driver. He was always there at the right time, very accommodating. He helped us find currency to go to Armenia with, advised where to change euros to lari, took us to local markets. The last day he waited at the market while we bought some last minute souvenirs, which was extremely kind of him. He went over and above his duties. He was informative and we enjoyed his company at meal times. He advised on local delicacies and what to eat. He too is very proud of Georgia and this shows in his tour guiding. I loved his honesty and his knowledge.
Tom is an asset to your tour company and I wish him every success.

Me and my husband had a lovely time in Armenia & Georiga. Arthur was our guide in Armenia and Demetre traveled with us in Georgia, both spoke good English and answered our questions. Everything was perfectly organized. My highlight was (unfortunately) the delicious food. Thanks again and good luck to you!

Guide: Both Narek, in Armenia and Shota in Georgia, were lovely people.  Narek is quite educated and was a good source of information. Our trip to Georgia was somewhat longer than anticipated due to some problems with the roads, but we enjoyed both of them.  Shota, especially was helpful to my wife dealing with merchants, and knew the Tblisi environs very well and suggested reasonably priced merchants for certain souvenirs.  Narek also was helpful to my wife with various merchants and got us reservations and assistance.
Driver: Narek drove very slowly (actually too slowly for us) but was very relaxed.
Shota was bit more aggressive, as you’d expect, but very very safe and cared very much about our safety.
Narek’s car (RangeRover Discovery) was a bit bumpy in the back seat, Shota’s Toyota Isis had a much more comfortable ride.
Car: See above
Hotels: The Cascade was a lovely place with friendly employees, and very well located (close to Cascade Steps, Opera house, etc).
My one criticism is that the rooms were much too small (although tidy and clean) and the beds were as hard as a rock. As older Americans accustomed to larger hotel rooms, we would have paid more gladly for a larger room.  We changed to the Double Tree-Hilton for our last night, and really enjoyed that comfort, even though the Doubletree was not as conveniently located as the Cascade. Next time, I’d specify the Marriott.  We are really very experienced travelers, but the size and comfort of the hotel rooms is now becoming a priority for us.  Perhaps you could give people the option of upgrading the hotel for a higher price.
What did you like best in your trip? It was a very meaningful trip for us in many ways. We saw family members of my wife we had never met;  the prices were very reasonable in both Armenia and Georgia, and we really enjoyed every day’s adventures.  We loved our lunch near the Garni Temple with the Babayans.  I loved my early morning walks each day around Yerevan and Tblisi.
What didn’t you like in the trip? The roads between Yerevan and Tblisi were often very bad, and even non-passable.
What would you add to your trip? Options for larger hotel rooms
Would you recommend our company to your friends? Yes. Thank you
I will also send you my journal, so you can see how carefully I documented each day.
