House-museum of Perch Proshyan

Perch Proshyan is a famous and beloved Armenian writer. You will find a lot of streets both in Yerevan and in regions which are named after him. The trip to Proshyan’s house-museum is not very long, as Ashtarak is just 20 km away from the capital of Yerevan.

The house-museum of the writer Perch Proshyan was opened in 1948 in the town of Ashtarak, in his parental home. Three new exhibition halls were attached to the house after the opening of the museum. The first room exhibits the writer’s personal things, the other two exhibit halls represent Perch Proshyan’s entire legacy including photographs, documents and all materials about his creative work.

The collection of the museum was collected thanks to the heirs of the writer. Today, the collection includes more than 2,000 materials about Perch Proshyan’s teaching, writing, and social activities.

The house-museum of Perch Proshyan is the cultural center of Ashtarak. The museum often hosts cultural events and creative evenings.
