Day 1-Arrival - Yerevan City Tour - Khor Virap - Chiva

After your arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel you'll have a city tour around Yerevan- the ancient capital of Armenia. According to the cuneiform inscription of Urartian King Argishti Yerevan was built in 782 BC. The trip will continue to the south of Armenia to Khor Virap Monastery, a historic site located amidst the Ararat Valley. The monastery was built on the place of the royal prison in Artashat. Here in the royal prison, Gregory the Illuminator suffered for 13 years for preaching Christianity in Armenia in the 3rd century. Then we will take you to the Armenian village Chiva (or Areni depending on the season). Here you will enjoy tasty and eco rustic dinner and then have an overnight in the local cozy cottage.

Day 2-Climbing training in the gorge of Hell Canyon

After breakfast, you will have a climbing training in the gorge of Hell Canyon for a full day (working with a rope, climbing history, learning the technique of climbing). The lunch will be held on the spot, you will have lunch boxes. At the end of the day, you will return to the village, have dinner and then have a rest at the cottage.

Day 3-Climbing training in the gorge of Hell Canyon

This day you will also have a climbing training in the gorge of Hell Canyon for a full day (working with a rope, climbing history, learning the technique of climbing) and then return to the village.

Day 4-Smbataberd - Noravank - Magellan - Areni

This is a rest day of our programme. After breakfast, you will have a hiking tour to the medieval fortress of Smbataberd. The tour will continue to Noravank Monastery located in a beautiful valley of red rocks and visit to the caves Magellan and Areni 1. You will visit Areni village known for its local wine production. Here those who wish will try Areni local wines. At the end of the day, you will return to the village, have a rustic dinner and then have a rest at the cottage.

Day 5-Climbing training in the gorge Amaghu

Day 7-Selim Pass - Hayravank - Lake Sevan - Departure

This day you will head to Gegharkunik region. First, you will stop to enjoy the famous Selim Pass and to visit Selim Caravanserai. A little later you will see a view of the lake Sevan - the “blue pearl of Armenia” and one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world located at about 1900 meters above sea level. Here you will visit Hayravank Monastery. After the tour, you will enjoy the farewell dinner on the shores of Lake Sevan with beautiful views and tasty local dishes. This day you will be transferred to the airport for departure.
