  • Route: Saghmosavank – Monument of the Armenian alphabet – Amberd – Karmravor – Oshakan

    By choosing this route, you will go to Aragatsotn region and visit Saghmosavank Monastery built in 1215. The monastery is located in a picturesque place on the slopes of the gorge of the River Kasakh. Next, you will see the monument to the Armenian alphabet which was founded 9 years ago in honor of the 1600th anniversary of the Armenian alphabet. Your next stop is Amberd fortress, located on the southern slope of Mount Aragats (the highest mountain in Armenia). The tour will continue to the small church of Karmravor belonging to the VII-th century, and then to the village of  Oshakan – the homeland of the creator of Armenian Alphabet, Mesrop Mashtots.

  • Route: Khor Virap – Noravank – Jermuk – Areni (winery)

    By choosing this route, you will go to the province of Ararat and visit one of Armenia’s major landmarks – the monastery of Khor Virap. It was here in the royal prison where for a long time suffered the founder of Christianity in Armenia – Gregory the Illuminator. From this place opens the most breathtaking view to Mount Ararat. Your way will continue to the valley of red rocks to Noravank monastery complex built in XIII-XIV centuries. At the territory of the monastery, you will see the unique examples of Armenian cross-stones – khachkars. The next stop is the resort town of Jermuk famous for its healing mineral waters. At the end of the day, you will visit the famous wine factory in Armenia – “Areni”. Here will be organized an excursion around the factory as well as wine tasting.

  • Route: Garni – Geghard – master-class on lavash baking

    The tour will start with a trip to the village of Garni where is located the only surviving example of the Hellenistic architecture in the region – the temple of Garni. Nearby is located a unique creation of Armenian architecture – the rock monastery of Geghard the part of which is carved in the rock. It was first founded in the IV century, but got its modern form in the XIII-th century after the reconstruction. In Garni village, you will have an opportunity to take part in the master-class of Armenian national bread lavash baking. Lavash is included in the list of UNESCO Intangible Heritage.

    The tour will start with a long and fascinating journey to Nagorno-Karabakh – a picturesque region in the eastern part of the Armenian highlands. Here you will have an exciting excursion around the capital of the region – Stepanakert. This day you will also visit one of the most outstanding monuments of Armenian culture of the X-th cent. – Gandzasar Monastery. This acting monastery is located in the picturesque place on the bank of the River Khachen. The word «gandzasar» is translated from Armenian as «the mountain of hidden treasures”. It is said, that it was named after the hill that the locals called “gandzasar” due to the silver mines found in it. The next excursion will be held in the ancient Armenian town Tigranakert, founded in the I century BC by the ruler Tigran II. The excursion around Nagorno-Karabakh will end with the visit to Askeran Fortress located at the southern outskirts of Askeran town. The overnight will be in Stepanakert.
