Day 1 - Arrival - Yerevan City Tour

The sights of Yerevan
After your arrival at the airport, we will organize a transfer to the hotel for you. Your exciting trip will start with a city tour around the ancient capital of Armenia, Yerevan. During the excursion, you will go up to the observation area located in the Victory Park, which offers an amazing view to Yerevan and Arara Mount. Then the tour will continue to the Cascade – huge staircase that connects the city center with the residential area. Going down by the stairs or the escalator you will see the unique sculptures of the modern art, among which the roman soldier and the big cat designed by the Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero, bronze hares by Briton Barry Flanagan, and many others no less valuable works of foreign masters. Some time later you will have a walk around the city center and see the famous building of Opera and Ballet Theater, the Republic Square with its numerous attractions and the colorful singing fountains. In the evening, you will have supper.

Day 2 - Garni - Geghard - Sevanavank - Yerevan

The third day will begin with a trip to the cave monastery of the XIII-th century – an amazing example of the medieval Armenian architecture. Some years ago it was included in the list of the UNESCO heritage sites. After the exploration of the monastery, the excursion will continue to Garni village famous for its Hellenistic ancient temple – the only surviving example in the Caucasus. In the cozy courtyard of a private house in Garni village, you will have delicious lunch consisting of national dishes. Here as well will be organized a demonstration of Armenian national bread lavash baking. After lunch, you will head to the gorge of the River Azat famous for its unique symmetrical natural monument, called “Symphony of Stones”. These basalt columns have appeared as a result of volcanic lava eruption. On the same day, you will have a trip to Lake Sevan – the pearl of Armenian nature. Due to the fact that it is the largest lake in the Caucasus, Armenians sometimes call it – “Armenian sea”. Its unearthly beauty and the surroundings attract tourists from many countries.

Day 3 - Yerevan - Echmiadzin - Ashtarak - Yerevan

The next day you will go to the town of Echmiadzin located at a distance of 20 km from Yerevan. Echmiadzin is the sanctuary of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the town worshiped by Armenians all over the world, a kind of Armenian Vatican, religious and spiritual center of the whole country. The fact is that it was here that after the adoption of Christianity in 301, the first Christian church in the world was built – the Cathedral of St. Echmiadzin. After the tour, you will have lunch in the organization «Unity Cross». It is a charitable organization established to support the cultural education of children, mostly children from poor families. Children here are engaged in different creative activities and craftsmanship. The tourists who visit the Unity Cross will be able to admire the works of children, as well as to visit the relics of Armenian history museum, which exhibits paintings, photographs, rugs etc. There is also a museum of wax figures representing characters from the well-known Armenian fairy tales. After lunch, you will go to the town of Ashtarak and visit the equestrian club “Ayrudzi”. There will be organized the acquaintance with pets and horse riding (7-8 min. under the supervision of a specialist). After dinner, you will return to Yerevan.

Day 4 - Tour Around Famous Buildings

Tumo Centre - Republic Square
The fourth day will start with the visit to the History Museum the collections of which covers the entire history of the Armenian people. Here you will see artifacts, weapons, and utensils of Urartu and other Armenian states, as well as sculptures, jewelry, and handicraft products of various historical regions of Armenia. The next part of our program is a visit to the Yerevan State Puppet Theatre after Ov. Tumanyan. After lunch, the tour will continue to “Tumo” – the center of innovation, open media studio. Any teenager can visit this unique center of its kind to develop different skills and abilities that are not traditionally taught in schools. Here, children between the ages of 12 to 18 years learn the elements of web design and how to create computer games, digital media, and animation. The entire system of the center is unique and has no analogs in the world, that’s why “Tumo” has attracted considerable attention abroad. Here you will get acquainted with the activities of the center and take part in the creative workshops. In the evening, you will have supper.
