Summer Tour to Armenia – 6 days


Day 1

  • Arrival in Yerevan, individual transfer from the airport
  • Lunch in the traditional Armenian restaurant
  • Return to the hotel for the rest
  • City tour around Yerevan – 2800 year- old capital of Armenia

    After your arrival, you will be transferred to Yerevan. Lunch will be organized in a traditional Armenian restaurant. Then you will have a city tour around Yerevan, the capital of Armenia that is 2799 years old. Ancient and modern times interlace here in a unique way. During the city tour, you will walk around the center of the city with and visit Cascade, Opera and Ballet Theater building, Mashtots Avenue, Republic Square. You will feel the hospitable atmosphere and the unique charm of Yerevan.

Day 2

  • Excursion to Matenadaran – repository of the richest manuscript collections in the world
  • Visit to the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, the religious center of all Armenians
  • Lunch in the Unity Cross
  • Return to Yerevan, shopping and visit to Vernissage souvenir fair and the grocery market for buying delicious Armenian fruits and dried fruits

    The day will start with an excursion to Matenadaran – the repository of one of the richest manuscript collections in the world. The trip will continue to the Holy See of Echmiadzin, the religious center of all Armenians around the world. Here was built the first official Christian church in the world – Echmiadzin Cathedral. It is the catholicosate of the Supreme Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church is located here.  Lunch will be in “Unity Cross” center. After your return to Yerevan, you will visit the souvenir fair Vernissage and the grocery market for buying delicious Armenian fruits and dried fruits.

Day 3

  • Drive to the scenic Azat River canyon where Geghard Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is located
  • The tour continues to Garni village, where the Hellenistic-inspired “Garni” temple lies (66 AD)
  • Lunch in Garni village accompanied with traditional bread lavash baking demonstration in tonir (oven in the ground)
  • Trip to Lake Sevan – one of the biggest freshwater lakes in the world situated at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level
  • Visit of Sevanavank Monastery
  • Return to Yerevan
  • Day 3 detailed

    After the breakfast at the hotel, you will have a trip to the scenic canyon of the Azat River. The 13th-century Geghard Cave Monastery is located deep at the bottom of the canyon and is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The monastery is partially carved from the adjacent cliffs that surround it.  The tour will continue by car to Garni village, where the Hellenistic-inspired Garni temple lies. Garni’s complex also possesses a royal bath which exhibits a fascinating hypocaust along with a well-preserved original mosaic tiling. Dinner will be in Garni village accompanied with traditional bread lavash baking demonstration. Then you will head n to Lake Sevan, the “blue pearl of Armenia” and one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world at 2000 meters above the sea level. The stunning hilltop view of the azure lake framed by the surrounding mountains amazes and inspires its visitors.

Day 4

  • Trip to the south of Armenia to Khor Virap Monastery the territory of which offers the best view of Biblical Mount Ararat
  • The trip continues to Noravank – another jewel of Armenian architecture which stands amidst the red rock valley

    Your trip will continue in Southern direction – to Khor Virap monastery, a historic site located amidst the Ararat Valley. The monastery was built on the place of the royal prison of Armenian ancient city of Artashat. In this prison Gregory the Enlightener was sentenced to death by King Trdat for preaching Christianity in Armenia in the 3rd century. Nowhere else the Biblical Ararat has such a magnificent view. On your way, you will head through a narrow picturesque canyon to Noravank medieval monastery (13c.) situated in the valley of red rocks. Trip to Goris – the town of red roofs and green gardens.

Day 5

  • Excursion to Tatev Monastery where you can take the longest Rope Way in the world and fly over 322 m deep Vorotan River Canyon
  • The trip continues to Jermuk town where you will have an excursion to Mineral Water Gallery and Jermuk waterfall
  • Lunch in the restaurant
  • Return to the hotel in Yerevan
  • Day 5 detailed

    Trip to Halidzor village, from where you’ll have the opportunity to travel by the world’s longest cable car “Wings of Tatev” to the monastery of Tatev. The ropeway is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. It flies has the length of 5752 m and the height of 320 m. Besides possessing a unique beauty, in the Middle Ages Tatev Monastery was the great center for education and science, as the most famous Armenian medieval university was located here. Next you will travel to Jermuk resort-town, famous for its beautiful nature and fresh air, where you will visit the beautiful waterfall and the Gallery of healing mineral water. Lunch in the restaurant.
