Group Tour to Armenia – 8 days

Day 1 – Sunday

  • Arrival at the airport in Yerevan
  • Free time for exploring the city

Day 2 – Monday

  • Excursion to the Monastery of Saghmosavank located high above the gorge at the River Kasakh
  • Next you will visit the monument of the Armenian Alphabet built in the honor of the creation of Armenian letters
  • The tour continues to the fortress of Amberd which belongs to the Middle Ages and is located on the southern slope of Mount Aragats (the highest mountain in Armenia)
  • Excursion to Karmravor Church in Ashtarak town
  • After the tour will visit the town of Oshakan, where was buried the creator of the Armenian Alphabet – Mesrop Mashtots

Day 3 – Tuesday

  • Trip to Noravank Monastery located in a picturesque place on the edge of the gorge surrounded by steep red cliffs. The monastery was built in the XIII-XIV centuries.
  • The tour continues to one of the most popular Armenian medieval sights – Tatev It is surrounded on the basalt plateau surrounded by luxury nature
  • The last tour destination is Karahunj – an archaeological site representing huge megalithic stone which are supposed to be an ancient observatory.

Day 4 – Wednesday

  • The tour continues to Lake Sevan. You will climb the high hill, where proudly stands the monastery of Sevanavank. It offers a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding beauty.
  • The tour continues to the town of Dilijan, known for its healing, filled with pine aromas air. Here you will have an excursion to the monasteries of Goshavank and Haghartsin located in the forests.

Day 5 – Thursday

  • City tour around Yerevan – the ancient capital of Armenia that is older that Rome
  • Excursion to the Museum Erebuni which will tell you the history of Yerevan
  • Visit to Megeryan Carpet museum shop where you’ll get acquainted with ancient Armenian carpets and rugs.
  • The tour will continue to ArArAt cognac factory where you will have cognac tasting.

Day 6 – Friday

  • Trip to the village of Garni where is located the only surviving example of the Hellenistic architecture in the region – the temple of Garni.
  • Visit to Geghard Monastery Armenian architecture – unique creation of Armenian architecture the part of which is carved in the rock
  • Master-class of Armenian national bread lavash baking.

Day 7 – Saturday

  • Free day will allow you to make purchases and visit some local markets and stores. A great option can be a visit to Vernissage, an art and craft market offering both souvenirs and a showcase of local Armenian craftsmanship for purchase or perusal.
